I was not sure what to expect. We have participated at the annual TAG cave in but we had not gon into a cave. We like the outdoors and the rivers. We hike almost every weekend or participate in an outdoor activity.

We were so unprepared. We had our helmets and lights. We had gloves and some knee and elbow pads. But we did not bring a change of clothes. Caving as you can imagine, means really going underground. I have been in several commercial caves. Tipically they are lit and easy to walk. The cave we visited was wet, muddy and of course dark.

The group consisted of 3 cavers , 10 kids, my fiancé (she has been caving) and I. Our kids (13 and 11) had never been in a cav either. We were very excited.

We had a great time and learned a lot about ground water, bats, caving, helping each other, etc.

By the time we got out, we were covered in mud. Thankfully we had brought towels.
