What a beautiful weekend! We headed to our favorite river, The Cartecay in north Ga.  I was planning to go to the lake Sunday afternoon with the kids. We had other plans, but my oldest had Sunday off. I decided it would be a good day for a trip.

The Cartecay River is located in Elijay, Ga. Since we have had good rain, it is running really well. This time, we rented tubes, usually we go on kayaks.  It is a nice trip. It usually takes us about 2.5-3 hours to complete. On tubes, you are really going slow, enjoying the entire trip.

Woody owns The Cartecay River Experience. It is a small outfit, but the people are great. We met Woody last year. The place was very busy.

My boy swinging on the rope. My daughter had to try it too. She is a brave soul. She won’t be left behind. What she lacks in size, she makes up in spirit.

Lots of people in the water.

We had a blast.

Right before you take out, there are 2 little Rapids. Both are level 2. Not a bad way to end the trip. You can paddle your way to the rocks on the left and go down the last rapid. My daughter asked me to tie my tube to hers (thank god for paracord)

Respect the River!
